Purim Costume Parade
YISE Nursery children proudly showed off their spectacular Purim costumes on Shushan Purim at a school-wide parade.
After watching a purim shpiel, produced, directed and performed by the Nursery teachers, the preschoolers marched and danced in circles singing “Mishenichnas”.
“Purim is an unforgettable time for children, and dressing up and using their imaginations is a wonderful educational opportunity,” says Morah Helen.
“The teachers are funny when they pretend,” said one student. “But they are not really those people. They are still our teachers!”
Four-year-olds learn about the seder and prepare their very own haggadot
Four-year-olds at YISE Nursery are busy at work creating their very own personal haggadot.
“We bring the children many items to look at, feel and think about,” said Morah Debby.
“I recently brought a variety of matzah covers I embroidered, and showed them to my students. We decided together that the children will plan out and embroider parts of their own matzah covers. They are very excited!”
“This is a new experience for the children and it is thrilling to see them accomplish a very grown up task, using real needles and thread,” said Morah Debby.
