Four-year-olds celebrate their graduation from YISE Nursery
The “Super Fours” sang and danced with confidence and aplomb at their recent graduation from YISE Nursery. “The exponential growth seen in the children is profound,” said Morah Debby Greengart. “We are very proud of each of their individual accomplishments and know that
they will excel in their new schools.”
Camp Shomrai SPLASHES into SUMMER!
Camp Shomrai is once again in session and campers are enjoying a summer of science, exploration and adventure. In accordance with the theme of Creation, camp staff teach the children about the scientific aspects of the world in which we live. Each week, art and science projects are based on a day of Creation. For example, in the first week the children learned about light, rainbows and color. What happens when a seed gets sun? What happens when it doesn’t? How does it feel to live in darkness. Camp Shomrai created a “Blind Museum” (inspired by one in Israel) and campers navigated their way through an obstacle course blindfolded. Water is a fascinating and miraculous part of our existence. The children were treated to a visit from “Mad Science”. Experiments with bubbling water, dry ice, steam, and gas, thrilled the children. “We see a whole new side of the children over the summer,” said Morah Leah Kott, assistant director of Camp Shomrai. “They are like little buds that open up into spectacular flowers.” “Our camp program is packed with fun and adventure, and the children are physically very active and energetic. They all go home exhausted physically, but inspired mentally,” said Lianne Heller, camp director.
